Genealogy

What do we do?

This group was formed in 1999 for a common purpose: To learn about all aspects of researching, displaying and writing up Family History. On 7th February 2011, Chris Paton gave us the benefit of  his vast experience of genealogical research and has kindly allowed us to publish this list of useful web resources. His contact details are included for anyone wishing to seek his assistance.

 

What level of knowledge is required?

No special knowledge is required.

What materials are needed.

No special materials are needed, but a computer is very helpful.

How many in the group, and are there any vacancies?

We currently have about 40 students and have a few more places available.

Where do the meetings take place?

Meetings generally take place on the afternoon of the first Monday of each month, from 2.00pm to 4.30pm in Shaftesbury.
