Orchid culture

What do we do?

The group studies all kinds of orchids and learns to grow orchids from the window sill varieties through to those grown in specialist orchid houses. From time to time the group stages exhibits in shows, visits orchid nurseries and orchids growing in the wild.

What level of knowledge is required?

There is no level of knowledge required – just enthusiasm.

What materials are needed.

The only materials needed are plants and compost as and when necessary.

How many in the group, and are there any vacancies?

The group can take 12 students and at the present time has a waiting list.

Where do the meetings take place?

Meetings are at the group leader’s home every second and fourth Tuesday from November to July.
